SuitabookThe case of the battling bots
O'Donnell, Liam
- Reading
- You could read together and pause when the case shifts from the competition to a wider threat. Ask what clues the detectives have and whether the mix of robots and magic is still enjoyable.
- Themes
- Fair play: Tank and Fizz investigate whether Rizzo Rawlins plans to cheat in the Battle Bot Cup. The suspected cheating makes fair play relevant, but the story's judgement of Rizzo or its resolution is not clear.
- Facing danger: The detectives dodge deadly battle bots and sinister spellbooks while trying to stop an ancient demon's return. The plot foregrounds peril and a race to act, but does not establish how danger is portrayed or resolved.
- Worth knowing
- The story includes a character described as a bully, deadly battle bots, a very dark threat and an angry ancient demon. The degree of peril and how frightening these scenes feel are unclear.
