Desmond Tutu
- Reading
- Pause over the illustrations as the seven-day account unfolds. You could invite your child to compare what the book says with other creation stories or explanations your family knows.
- Themes
- Creation through a Christian lens: The story presents the world’s creation over seven days as a biblical account, beginning with God's love. It offers a faith-based retelling of Genesis, rather than a comparative or scientific account of origins.
- Lyrical text and illustration: Tutu's lyrical text and Nancy Tillman's illustrations accompany the sequence of creation across seven days. The book combines verbal retelling and visual presentation to convey the creation story.
- Worth knowing
- The story presents creation through a Christian biblical lens, including God’s role in the beginning of the world. Consider how this fits with your family’s beliefs or other accounts you discuss.
