- Reading
- Read together if useful, pausing to track who is speaking when panels become hard to follow. The introductory material can provide context; allow room to talk about the characters' fear and difficult decisions.
- Themes
- Everyday life and wartime danger: Paul helps his family and joins efforts to protect Henri in occupied France. The story places ordinary duties alongside the strain and risks of wartime life.
- Worth knowing
- The story includes fear, persecution of a Jewish family, wartime danger and children taking risks. Its treatment of these events may feel intense, despite the graphic format.
