- Reading
- Pause around adventure alongside polar information and ask how the book presents it.
- Themes
- Adventure alongside polar information: The expedition story is paired with information about surviving in Antarctica and explorers who sought the South Pole. This combination gives the adventure an informational strand, rather than presenting it only as a survival story.
- Worth knowing
- The crevasse accident and harsh polar conditions create a survival dilemma. Consider whether this kind of peril feels exciting or unsettling to your reader.
