SuitabookThe Coyote Road
Ellen Datlow, Terri Windling, Charles Vess
- Reading
- Try one story at a time, then compare how each contributor presents the trickster figure. Vess’s illustrations and decorations can provide another point of entry.
- Themes
- Many versions of the trickster: The anthology brings together contemporary stories in which different authors take their own approach to trickster characters. Its organising idea is variety: the book offers multiple creative interpretations rather than one stated definition of a trickster.
- Worth knowing
- The contents draw on fantasy and folklore motifs. You could read a story together and talk about how its author presents the trickster figure.
