- Reading
- Read the story for its imaginative voice, then use the included scripture references or parent tips if you want to discuss how it relates to the biblical account.
- Themes
- Jonah through the whale’s eyes: The book imagines how the whale might tell the story of Jonah being inside its stomach. The perspective is presented as a creative way to approach the Jonah story, but the full treatment and interpretation are unclear.
- Worth knowing
- The story draws on the biblical account of Jonah and includes the whale’s stomach as part of its comic premise; consider whether that religious framing suits your family’s reading plans.
