- Reading
- Try reading one tale at a time, then compare the kinds of characters and worlds each introduces. The illustrations offer another way to explore the collection together.
- Themes
- A collection of different folktales: The book moves from the brothers True and Untrue through tales featuring royalty, giants and trolls, married couples, and a castle. The collection is presented as a range of distinct folktales, rather than a single continuous story.
- Worth knowing
- The tales include love and hate, sorrow and joy.
