- Reading
- If explosions or political danger are a concern, read together at first and pause to discuss what is happening; the story’s resolution and level of detail are unclear.
- Themes
- Political responsibility under threat: Sisko must manage a gathering of ambassadors while responding to attacks and a Cardassian commander’s demand for the station. The plot sets competing responsibilities alongside danger, but does not establish how the story evaluates Sisko’s choices.
- Worth knowing
- The story includes terrorists blowing up a space station and describes the station as a dangerous minefield. The extent or vividness of the harm is not clear.
