SuitabookInto the wild
Doreen Cronin
- Reading
- Enjoy the mystery one clue at a time; pause to make predictions about the newcomer and the squad’s improvised detective tools. The book is the third in a series, but this plot centres on a new case.
- Themes
- Comic detective play: The Chicken Squad investigates a new caged arrival using surveillance equipment and marshmallows. The setup frames the chicks’ sleuthing as comic, imaginative play rather than serious investigation.
- Worth knowing
- The unidentified newcomer is treated as potentially troublesome, adding suspense to the investigation.
