SuitabookThe king of space
Jonny Duddle
- Reading
- Read together and pause when Rex’s ambition starts affecting others. Invite your child to say what they think Rex wants and what they would want to know next.
- Themes
- Ambition and its effects on others: Rex aims to rule space and involves friends who do not know what he is planning. The outline establishes the ambition and its effect on his friends, but not whether the story endorses or criticises Rex’s choices.
- Worth knowing
- Rex’s conquest goes too far and brings the threat of the Galactic Alliance’s wrath. The degree of danger or how these confrontations are depicted is unclear.
