- Reading
- Read together or check in after Carrie reaches India; invite discussion about what she expects to find, without assuming how her search or return ends.
- Themes
- Luck and superstition: Carrie credits her success to a T-shirt and sets out to recover it when her luck seems to change. The premise puts Carrie's belief in luck at the centre of the story, but does not establish whether the book endorses or challenges it.
- A journey away from home: Carrie travels to India to retrieve the donated shirt, and the summary indicates she must find a way back home. The book’s stance on this remains unclear.
- Worth knowing
- Carrie travels halfway around the world and needs to find her way home.
