- Reading
- You could read together and pause after a dangerous episode to check how your reader is finding the tension, then continue or take a break according to their response.
- Themes
- Family bereavement and change: A car accident takes the children's mother; Chad, Kate and their father start a new life. The book’s stance on this remains unclear.
- Danger during travel: The family encounters repeated life-threatening situations while travelling to help missionaries. Danger is a recurring part of the adventures; how frightening or realistically it is presented is unknown.
- Helping missionaries: The family company takes Chad, Kate and their father around the world to help missionaries. Missionary work is part of the premise, but the story's perspective on it is not established.
- Worth knowing
- A parent may want to note the mother's death in a car accident and the repeated life-threatening predicaments.
