SuitabookSwallows and Amazons
Arthur Michell Ransome
- Reading
- Read together at a pace that leaves room to pause over the children's plans and choices. You can decide as you go whether to continue or talk through an episode.
- Themes
- Shared adventure: Children borrow a sailing boat, camp on an island and have adventures with two girls they meet. The story centres on shared outdoor activity, but the available plot outline does not establish a particular judgement or message about it.
- Worth knowing
- Sailing and camping are part of the children's adventures. If these activities feel significant to your child, check in as you read; the extent of any danger is unclear.
