- Reading
- Read together if helpful, pausing after tense encounters to check how the pandemic danger is landing. You could also follow the shift from survival adventure to Bella’s spiritual mystery and see which thread interests your reader.
- Themes
- Adventure and spiritual mystery: The search for missing family members drives an adventure through the Grand Canyon, while Bella seeks a portal believed to lead to another world. The story brings an action-led survival quest together with a spiritual mystery, rather than presenting only one kind of adventure.
- Worth knowing
- The premise includes a deadly pandemic, people made ill by the virus, and attacks by a group that spreads it. Consider whether these threats might feel intense for your reader.
