- Reading
- Follow how football travels from Jackson’s personal passion to a game shared with the moon-folk. Pause to notice what changes when new players take it up.
- Themes
- Football enthusiasm becomes a space adventure: Jackson’s all-consuming interest leads to his ball reaching the moon, a sudden rise to football fame and footballs being sent from Earth into space. The sequence presents a deliberately fantastical escalation from a familiar hobby to an interplanetary football adventure.
- Worth knowing
- Jackson’s devotion is presented in outsized terms: he sends every Earth football into space. Consider whether this sort of exaggerated enthusiasm will delight your child or feel frustrating.
