SuitabookThe Slime Wars

- Reading
- Pause when the contest's rules and stakes become clear. Invite your reader to predict how a mixed team might handle the rivalry, then revisit the prediction after reading.
- Themes
- Rivalry and cooperation: Children on Daleside Drive repeatedly clash, but the game show requires boys and girls on each team and makes cooperation necessary to avoid the slime-pit penalty. The setup places rivalry alongside a practical need to cooperate; it does not show how the story ultimately treats that tension.
- Worth knowing
- The rivalry includes practical jokes and physical play such as slime battles and water-balloon fights; the contest also threatens losers with a large slime-pit dunk.
