Ed Shankman

Reading: Enjoy the rhyme aloud, pausing to spot the visiting fish and the places they come from; invite the reader to pick a favourite name or line.
Themes: Returning to a favourite place: The Cods return to Cape Cod for their summer holiday, where fish friends visit. The verse warmly celebrates the family’s repeated choice of a favourite destination.
Worth knowing: The holiday is presented as cheerful and welcoming; the supplied text gives little detail about events beyond the visitors’ arrival and having fun.
