SuitabookBlack Hearts in Battersea (Wolves #2)
Joan Aiken
- Reading
- Try reading a few chapters together first, then check in about how the danger feels and whether the story's humorous tone suits your reader. Continue independently if they are comfortable.
- Themes
- A plot against the rulers: Simon becomes caught up in a caper to overthrow King James and the Duke and Duchess of Battersea. The overview calls the conspirators wicked, but does not show how the political plot or its resolution is treated in the story.
- Worth knowing
- Dangerous incidents include kidnapping, poisoned pies, wild wolves and a wrecked ship. These suggest repeated peril; how frightening or vividly these events are presented remains unclear.
