SuitabookBabe conquers the world
Rich Wallace, Sandra Neil Wallace
- Reading
- Read together in sections, pausing to distinguish sporting achievements from personal challenges and to compare what photographs, letters and other accounts contribute.
- Themes
- Sporting ambition and achievement: Babe aims to become a great athlete and rises to prominence in basketball, Olympic competition and golf. The book presents this favourably.
- Worth knowing
- Poverty, loneliness, humiliation, prejudice and cancer are among the difficulties named. These may invite questions about hardship and resilience; the extent and detail of each are unclear.
