- Reading
- For a reader who prefers to know how intense a thriller becomes, read together at first and pause to check how the weapon threat and pursuit are landing.
- Themes
- Wildlife protection and the weapon project: Ben and Annie are observing protected hen harriers when they discover a weapon project operating near the birds’ nesting site. The plot brings wildlife protection into contact with a dangerous research operation, but does not establish how the story weighs these concerns.
- Worth knowing
- The central threat involves a highly lethal weapon, and the story includes enemies determined to stop the cousins. The extent of on-page violence or injury is not clear.
