SuitabookPersephone the Daring
Joan Holub, Suzanne Williams
- Reading
- You could read together in short stretches, pausing to untangle unfamiliar mythological names and discuss how the characters handle competing loyalties.
- Themes
- Helping someone versus keeping rules: Persephone presses Hades to return Eurydice to the living world, despite serious Underworld rules. The plot sets a desire to help against rule-breaking, but does not establish whether the story approves of Persephone’s decision.
- Worth knowing
- The plot includes Eurydice being lost to the Underworld and Orpheus being devastated, alongside romantic crushes and strong fan excitement. The intensity of these moments is unclear.
