SuitabookA year down yonder
Richard Peck
- Reading
- As you read, notice how Mary Alice's impressions develop over the year. If this is your first encounter with the characters, consider whether reading the earlier story would add useful context.
- Themes
- A changing view of a grandmother: Mary Alice begins the year apprehensive about her grandmother and gradually comes to understand and admire her unusual qualities. The book presents this favourably.
- Worth knowing
- Pay particular attention to emotional intensity.
