SuitabookBernie leaves the city
James Allen Case
- Reading
- Invite the child to notice what Bernie knows about his city routine, then pause at the change of setting and see what clues help him navigate the countryside.
- Themes
- Adapting to unfamiliar surroundings: Bernie is taken from his city routine to the countryside and tries to return; some aspects of the new setting prove less unfamiliar than expected. The synopsis presents a contrast between familiar city life and a countryside adventure, but does not establish a broader judgement about either place.
- Worth knowing
- Bernie is trapped in a delivery truck and driven away from his home environment. The extent or duration of any distress is not clear.
