SuitabookThe Barking family Christmas
Edward Beedham
- Reading
- Try reading a little together first, then check whether the mix of absurd comedy and looming danger feels enjoyable. You can decide whether to continue at the child’s pace.
- Themes
- Family teamwork amid eccentricity: The children are described as holding the family together while their inventor father and mother with an odd sense of humour face trouble. The premise places the children in an active family role, but does not show how their contribution or family relationships are judged.
- Worth knowing
- The plot includes an approaching evil threat, an army of intelligent squirrels and runaway Christmas trees. Their intensity, and whether anyone is hurt, are not established.
