SuitabookThe Gate of Days
Guillaume Prévost
- Reading
- As you read, keep track of which historical setting Sam visits and what each coin is meant to help him do. Pause after the family revelations to discuss how they change the quest.
- Themes
- Family, loss and rescue: Sam seeks his trapped father, who is sick and dying; the father insists that Sam’s dead mother must also be rescued. The book’s stance on this remains unclear.
- Worth knowing
- The reunion with Sam’s father involves serious illness and death, and Sam’s mother is already dead. These family-loss themes may merit a check-in with a reader who finds them difficult.
