Original Book on African Storybook: Adventure around South Africa (opens in a new tab)- Reading
- Pause at each stop to notice the place name and illustration. At the end, try recalling the route together; the book itself prompts readers to remember provinces and cities.
- Themes
- Travelling through South Africa: Chanri and Boipelo’s train journey visits named cities and provinces, with brief encounters and sights along the way. The book offers a sequence of locations and sights, but does not explain the places in depth or set out a wider argument about them.
- Worth knowing
- One stop features a coal factory supplying fuel for the train. This is part of the journey, not a discussion of coal’s wider effects.
