SuitabookAnne Frank
Josephine Poole
- Reading
- Read together if helpful, pausing at the timeline to place events in context and allowing time to talk about the persecution and capture described.
- Themes
- A life told through pictures and concise text: The biography pairs succinct text with expressive paintings and includes a chronology of events in Europe and the Frank family. Its visual and chronological structure presents Anne’s life alongside the historical events surrounding it.
- Worth knowing
- The biography addresses antisemitic persecution, wartime atrocities, hiding and Anne’s removal by the SS; its sombre paintings reinforce the oppressive mood.
