SuitabookFalling for Rapunzel
Leah Wilcox
- Reading
- Read the rhyming lines aloud and pause before each object is revealed, giving your child time to guess. Afterwards, compare how this version differs from a familiar Rapunzel story.
- Themes
- Rescue and independence: The book addresses rescue and independence; the detail of how it is developed remains unclear. The retelling offers a comic challenge to the familiar damsel-in-distress pattern rather than simply repeating it.
- Worth knowing
- Rapunzel sends down underwear as part of the comic misunderstandings. The ending also pairs the maid and prince in a quick, humorous falling-in-love twist.
