- Reading
- Read a little together at first, pausing to see how the magical mystery feels to your reader. You can then decide whether to continue together or let them read independently.
- Themes
- Magic and the bear's plight: The sisters see sorcerers casting spells near the border of Faerie, then connect this to the plight of a black bear who comes to their cottage. Magic and its possible consequences are central to the mystery, but the premise alone does not show whether the spells or sorcerers are ultimately condemned or treated another way.
- Worth knowing
- Sorcery and a bear's plight are part of the premise. How threatening the magic becomes, and what happens to the bear, are not clear; a reader sensitive to peril may want to check in as you read.
