SuitabookMidnight Treasure
Piers Torday
- Reading
- Check in around the early action if your reader is sensitive to supernatural threats or conflict. Afterwards, ask which clues changed their view of a character, rather than focusing only on solving the treasure hunt.
- Themes
- Trust and secrecy: Tibor and Roza must decide whom to trust while pursuing the treasure and deciding whether to reveal its secrets. The premise makes trust and secrecy central situations, but does not show whether the story ultimately praises openness, loyalty or another response.
- Courage under danger: The protagonists face a deadly quest with supernatural opponents, magical challenges, fights and imprisonment. The book’s stance on this remains unclear.
- Worth knowing
- The adventure includes battles with bears, wrestling with vampirs, fights, imprisonments, escapes, betrayals and a race against time.
