- Reading
- If the imagery appeals, invite the reader to map the rescue mission: identify who needs help, what Molly and Shanti know, and which moments make the quest feel urgent or frightening.
- Themes
- Rescue and responsibility: Molly joins Animal-Keeper mermaid Shanti to investigate whether turtles are trapped and to find animals that remain lost. The book?s stance on this remains unclear.
- Power and control: Dark Queen Carlotta is said to hide sea creatures and steal their powers, creating the book’s central threat. The book?s stance on this remains unclear.
- Worth knowing
- The central conflict involves creatures being hidden, their powers being stolen and a possible entrapment inside an egg. The pursuit by skeletal coral monsters may merit checking in with a sensitive reader.
