Sign in for personalised guidanceHow the book presents it: The story treats facing the injection as brave, while allowing Bora to express fear and discomfort.
Talk about: What kinds of support might help someone face something they find worrying?
It may offer a way to talk about what a clinic visit can involve, while acknowledging Bora’s fear and the doctor’s comment that the injection stings a little.
Needles and injections are central to the visit; Bora hesitates and cries out when he gets one. The story also depicts a lollypop promised as a reward for bravery.
What do you think helped Bora decide to go in, and what might you want to know or ask if you were visiting a clinic?
Pause before the injection scenes and let your child describe what they notice. If clinic visits feel relevant, invite questions without promising that every visit will be the same.
