A Walk on the Farm

The book may suit a child who enjoys lifting flaps and learning through brief facts. Shared reading can make the farm’s spaces and routines more concrete without requiring a continuous fictional storyline.

Some pages involve lambs being fed, chicks hatching and corn being harvested. If your child is sensitive to animal-care or birth-related imagery, look through these sections together and follow their reactions.

What jobs might people do in the different farm places, and what could the animals, crops or people need at each stage? Notice which facts the flaps reveal and which questions remain unanswered.

Read it slowly as an explore-and-talk book rather than straight through. Let the child operate the flaps, pause at unfamiliar farm words, and revisit pages to connect animals, places, jobs and seasonal activity.
