Akiko and Teddy look for Teddy’s missing button eye during a nighttime adventure.
Mee-Chan the cat and Mrs Crow are presented as possible helpers while Akiko and Teddy search.
The garden at midnight is described as magical, strange and mysterious.
The phrase “strange, mysterious” may create mild suspense, particularly because the search happens at midnight. Consider whether your child enjoys moonlit or unfamiliar settings, and pause to look closely at the pictures.
This is a grounded book brief while Suitabook strengthens the analysis: the book’s treatment of its main themes is not yet firm enough; some draft conclusions still depend on unresolved evidence.
