Ragweed joins local mice facing F. E. A. R. and helps organise a counterattack against the cats.
Ragweed leaves home through wanderlust, reaches a rundown city district, builds connections there and ultimately chooses country life.
Cats threaten the mice, while the ferocious Silversides is also described as receiving some sympathy.
Expect repeated predator danger, brushes with death and a climactic counterattack. The later suggestion that country life will be short may also make the ending feel sombre or unsettling.
This is a grounded book brief while Suitabook strengthens the analysis: another book-specific source is still needed.
