JP would rather refrain from taking part in a contest than cheat.
The series’ stories are described as bringing the friends into situations that prompt reflection, listening to others or learning from mistakes.
The choice not to cheat is central, so the story touches on fairness and competition.
This is a grounded book brief while Suitabook strengthens the analysis: the current material supports only a cautious reading; another book-specific source is still needed.
