Blue is described as a thoughtful bookworm, Barry as a brilliant inventor and Pancakes as a happy-go-lucky adventurer; they are presented as always supporting one another.
Pancakes makes a rocket from balloons and creates a planet called Balloonia, turning an ordinary afternoon into an intergalactic adventure.
The visit is described as becoming an ordeal, culminating in a meeting with the biggest and meanest Balloonian.
