Chicken Soup for the Kid's Soul 2

The collection offers a range of personal accounts around growing up and making choices, rather than one continuous plot. Its stated focus on acceptance, responsibility and bravery can prompt reflection on how people act in everyday situations.

The stories address the sometimes trying and confusing experience of being a child, including friendship and choices. Individual situations and their emotional intensity vary, so check in if a particular story feels close to your child’s experience.

Which story’s choices or actions felt most familiar to you, and what would you have done in that situation?

Try reading one story at a time, aloud together or independently. Pause afterwards to let your child respond to the people’s choices; the collection is presented for both shared and solo reading.
