Fabio wants a brother-like companion but his family brings home Gracie, an older rescue dog who does not match his hopes.
Gracie comes from a pound and is described as old, tired and shy rather than as an immediately lively playmate.
Fabio’s judgement of Gracie and their encounters with his friends may invite discussion of first impressions, difference and whether someone’s value depends on being energetic or entertaining.
This is a grounded book brief while Suitabook strengthens the analysis: another book-specific source is still needed.
