Philip is presented as the person who may save most of the island’s imprisoned inhabitants from Oyin’s rule.
Oyin has taken control of the island, imprisoned most of its inhabitants and threatens lethal punishment while seeking complete power.
The story includes imprisonment, a villain who threatens to kill the island’s inhabitants, frightening servants called Growlers, darkness and moments that readers have remembered as scary.
This is a grounded book brief while Suitabook strengthens the analysis: some draft conclusions still depend on unresolved evidence.
